A band saw consists out of a continues toothed metal blade tensioned between two wheels, one motor driven wheel and one idler wheel. Band saws are used to cut a variety of materials including wood, metal, plastic, etc. Band saw works at very low revolutions per minute combined with coolant to ensure accurate cutting, quiet operation and spark free environment, A cold saw, also known as a circular saw, also operates at low revolutions per minute to transfer the heat to the chips created by the cutting procedure. This allows the material and the blade to remain cool. A cold saw uses a round toothed steel blade.
