A little bit about Hurco

Hurco Companies was founded in 1968.
Hurco Companies, Inc. is an industrial technology company that designs and produces interactive computer controls, software and computerised machine tool systems for the worldwide metal cutting and metal forming industry. The end markets for the Company’s products consist primarily of independent job shops and short-run manufacturing operations within large corporations in industries such as the aerospace, defense, medical equipment, energy, transportation and computer equipment.

The Company is headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana and has sales, application engineering and service subsidiaries in High Wycombe, England; Munich, Germany; Paris, France; Milan, Italy and Singapore, along with manufacturing operations in Taiwan. Products are sold through independent agents and distributors in the United States, Europe, Asia and Africa. The Company also has direct sales forces in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, and Asia.

The product range includes: CNC Graphite Electrode Machining Centers, CNC Horizontal & Vertical Machining Centers, CNC Milling Machines and Equipment, CNC Lathes, Machine Control Software, Machine Controls and Machining Centers and Machine Tools.

Hurco has been active in South Africa since 2005 when a local representative introduced Hurco CNC machines to the country. In 2008, Hurco South Africa (Pty) Ltd was officially established as subsidiary of Hurco Europe Ltd to demonstrate a clear, long term commitment to support the growing number of machines and clients in the country.

Hurco South Africa have had an informal relationship with TH Machine Tools since 2015 with TH Machine Tools marketing the full range of the Hurco CNC machines. As of October 2019 TH Machine Tools was appointed as the sole agent for Hurco in South Africa. TH Machine Tools personnel received Hurco specific technical, application and sales training with spares in stock to continue with fast and affective service delivery and training.

As of 2020, there are more than 200 Hurco machines installed at numerous sites throughout South Africa with many clients having the confidence to place repeat orders for additional machines.
